Easter Sunday: Are You Ready?

This Sunday is Easter, one of the most important days on the Christian calendar. Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, whom Christians believe rose from the dead three days after crucifixion.

For kids, Easter is filled with sweet treats, Easter egg hunts and family get-togethers. The tradition of Easter eggs stems from a pagan custom adopted by early Christians, who later used dye to color the eggs.

Although many people now use plastic eggs filled with money or candy, some still hard-boil and paint Easter eggs. Just 10 minutes in boiling water produces eggs that are easy to peel and delicious to eat.

Other favorite Easter snacks include hot cross buns, ham or roasted lamb, and, of course, marshmallow Peeps.
