Matt Lauer Leaving 'Today'?

Is 'Today' losing both of its anchors? Just a day after reports indicated Meredith Vieira would leave when her contract expires in September, news broke Matt Lauer may also sign off. His current contract runs through December 31, 2012.

Lauer joined 'Today' in January 1994 as news anchor. He was promoted to co-host when Bryant Gumbel left in 1997. Vieira joined the team in 2006 when longtime host Katie Couric jumped ship for 'CBS Evening News.'

The TV news shakeup isn't confined to 'Today.' Couric is expected to leave her nightly news job this summer and Fox News host Glenn Beck announced last night he is stepping down from his show.

'Today' has been the top-rated morning news program for more than 15 years, with 'Good Morning America' running second.
