Carb Lovers Diet: Does It Work?

Filed under:

carb lovers dietDo you love carbs? The Carb Lovers Diet believes you can have your cake and eat it, too. The basic idea: eat a low-cal diet of of resistant starches found in potatoes, bread, beans and pasta.

The program calls for six days a week of workouts--two days of strength training and four days of cardio--along with a carefully monitored diet for 28 days total.

If you can make it through the strict first seven days, the Carb Lovers Diet should be a breeze. During the kick-start week, dieters are limited to 1200 daily calories divided among four meals; after that, daily calorie intake is upped to 1600.

Resistant starches promote the feeling of fullness similar to fiber, so dieters are less likely to feel hungry after a meal and reach for a snack.
