If you've seen people wandering around the office shoeless today and wondered why, here's the answer: today is One Day Without Shoes, an annual event sponsored by TOMS Shoes.

One Day Without Shoes raises awareness about the worldwide problem of children going barefoot, which leads to a higher risk of infection and disease. In countries where a child may walk miles to school or water, wearing shoes literally saves lives.
