Lean Cuisine Recall 2011

Filed under:

Check your freezer: Nestle has recalled 10,260 pounds of Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with Meatballs. The recall comes over fears the packaged meals may contain inedible bits of hard, red plastic.

Customers who bought affected products can contact Nestle to receive a replacement coupon. No injuries have been reported.

Affected Lean Cuisine meals were sold at stores east of the Rocky Mountains, with complaints coming from Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. In a statement, Nestle apologized for any inconvenience and said it 'is dedicated to food quality, and the health and safety of its consumers.'

This isn't the first Lean Cuisine recall over plastic. In 2008, Nestle recalled 900,000 pounds of Lean Cuisine frozen chicken dinners containing blue plastic.
