NASA Alien Life Claim

News that a NASA scientist had proof of alien life set the Internet a-buzz over the weekend but today NASA is refuting those claims. NASA astrobiologist Richard Hoover said he discovered worm-like extraterrestrial life inside an extremely rare class of meteorite, only nine of which are known to exist on Earth.

Hoover published his alien life findings in the online Journal of Cosmology but NASA says his paper never made it through the peer review process and that the agency 'cannot stand behind or support' such a paper.

The online journal that published Hoover's research is known for its loose submission guidelines, according to Discovery News, and may have been any easy place for Hoover to publish his work after it was rejected from a more reputable science journal in 2007.
