Jenny Craig has a new spokeswoman: Carrie Fisher. The actress and writer hopes to lose 30 pounds on the weight loss program and is already halfway there, having lost 15 pounds since December.

Fisher joins a long list of celebrity weight loss endorsers. Valerie Bertinelli preceded Fisher at Jenny Craig and lost 40 pounds on the diet program. Now weighing 125 pounds from her high of 173 pounds, Bertinelli wants to shoot a swimsuit reveal with Fisher once she loses the weight. As for Fisher, her bikini may be metal. Referring to her famous 'Star Wars' metal bikini, Fisher joked that she 'would like to have the option of getting back into the metal bikini. I won't be doing that, but I'd like the option.'

Kirstie Alley may have started the trend of pairing celebrities with weight loss programs but depending on which story you believe, the former Jenny Craig spokeswoman either quit or was fired from the company after regaining the weight. In 2006, Alley famously flaunted her bikini body on 'Oprah' after losing 75 pounds but within two years, she had gained back 85 pounds.

Weight loss programs like Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers aren't just for woman. Former NFL star Dan Marino promoted Nutrisystem and credited the program with his 22-pound weight loss, calling it 'one of the best decisions I've ever made.' 'Seinfeld' funnyman Jason Alexander relied on Jenny Craig to drop 30 pounds after his physical appearance on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' shocked him.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson slimmed down post-baby with Weight Watchers. The singer lost 80 pounds and shows off her new body and killer vocal cords in a series of national TV commercials. She says 17-month-old David Otunga, Jr. inspired her to get fit and stay healthy.
